Here is what Lam had to say about 1and1 and the overall experience with their web hosting service.

I sign up for web hosting with 1and1. I’m very happy with the service. They increase monthly service every 6month cycles without giving notice. I added other extra service package on my web hosting, later I don’t think it work out for me. I tried to cancel it. 1and1 still keep charging my credit card for the add-on service. I emailed to ask why and they said the add-on service is still on my account. But when check it; I didn’t see it on my account. I ask them to cancel for me, but they refused. They shut off the my web host if I refuse to pay for the add on service, although I already pay for the web host. I told them that I want to cancel the add-on service, why don't they shut that off for me because I don't know how to cancel it; they still refuse to cancel it for me. I have to write to Better Bureau Business about my case.
