After two years of service, I can honestly say Servage is the best host I have ever had. When I initially opened my account, they offered 210 GB of web space and 2100 GB of bandwidth for a little over $8 per month.
As they grew, they were able to lower their costs through increased purchasing power. Instead of pocketing the difference, they passed part of it back to their customers. Now, it's 360 GB of web space and 3600 GB of bandwidth for $6.45 per month.
And they have improved services in the process. For example, they offer a tremendous selection of the most popular scripts that are available with their automatic script installer.
Of course, they have all the tools a good webhost provides and more.

Another great feature is their webdrive. It allows you to use your hosting account as a network hard drive. Want to upload files to the server? Just use windows explorer, and copy them to the right folder on drive S. FTP is not required. Do it right from your windows explorer.
Servage is all about making your job better and easier as a webmaster. Not just established customers. Even potential new customers get the same treatment.

Even if it's after midnight, responses to my customer support tickets never take more than a few hours. The really nice thing is being able to use the support ticket to talk back and forth very much like a forum thread until the problem is resolved or you understand what to do.
Servage has always been friendly and helpful no matter what kind of questions I ask. Tough ones or stupid ones. Makes no difference. Doesn't matter if you're a newbie or experienced webmaster, all customer questions merit a full and courteous answer.
How do I know? Because I have asked some really dumb questions. :o)

On the rare occasion when my hosting service has been affected (three times in two years - once for moving my account to php5 at my request - twice for equipment upgrades), advanced communication always lets me know ahead of time. A notice was also posted to my account, so that after login, I was reminded of the scheduled outtage, and why.
I have never had an unscheduled outtage in two years.

When I setup my hosting account, it was not immediate. I had to wait a couple of hours for access. It may have changed now. Still for manual setup, it was fast, but not instant. That's why it's rated at 8.
