Rackspace in the hosting business is equivalent to Versace in the fashion industry. They have excellent and persistent sales reps who walk you through the build of your custom dedicated server. Yes, all their servers are built to the specification of their clients, which is why the require you to sign an 18 month contract. This company is definitely not for the small-time web hustler.

The customer support they offer is phenomenal. Prompt response and turnaround time. The service they provide is like the Ritz-Carlton. They are always ahead of their customers. They provide regular scheduled maintenance on hardware and software and always keep you posted. Their systems are closely monitored and alert you about the slightest thing out of place.

I never experience any downtown on my machine as they guarantee 100% uptime. Very efficient backup systems kick in to buffer any hardware or software failure. They use very very current software and hardware for all their systems.

In tune with the service they provide, their pricing is not for the faint at heart. Nobody said a Bentley was cheap. This is generally what you would expect when you order custom built equipments. The base price starts from around $385 and can very quickly go up depending on the features you request.

The account setup was prompt and to my specifications. The the necessary modifications I requested were accommodated. They offer great one on one phone tutorial after the setup, taking to steps to walk you through their admin setup. They also offer thorough online documentation for revision. If that fails, there is always an efficient customer support team.

For a hosting company that hosted YouTube before they were bought out, I ONLY recommend them if you are a big budget client with a major web-based project. For most people seeking a mediocre web-presence, the service and packages they offer may be an overkill for you. This is overall an excellent company.
