Omnis Editor's Review

Omnis network offers a one-plan-fits-all approach to web hosting and offers one plan for Linux web hosting and one plan for Windows web hosting. Omnis was founded in 1999 and has served over 200,000 web hosting accounts since then.

Omnis is an unlimited web host that offers unlimited disk space, unlimited bandwidth, and unlimited hosted accounts for a flat fee. Omnis also offers a risk-free 30 day money back guarantee.

Editor's Comments About Omnis Price Value

Omnis pricing is average compared to other hosts listed on customer hosting reviews. Omnis does not offer customers the ability to pay monthly and requires new customers to pay for one or two years in advance. Since it is a good idea to try a web host before registering for years in advance, Omnis may turn away customers during the ordering process.

Editor's Comments About Omnis Reliability

Omnis does not currently offer a server status screen that customer hosting reviews editors can use to monitor their services. Therefore, we must rely on feedback from their customers. We've looked at other web hosting review resources and have found an overall positive experience with reliability and uptimes. Based on what customers have said on this website, we find that Omnis is reliable. Have you had a good or bad experience with Omnis? Let us know by submitting a customer review of Omnis.

Editor's Comments About Omnis Control Panel

Omnis uses their own control panel called Account Manager. There is very little information on their account manager other than a few video tutorials that show you the basic functions. From our perspective, customers will be missing several features found on other control panels such as cPanel or VDeck. Omnis' Account Manager appears to be very limited in what is offered, such as, they do not appear to offer any sort of easy install methods for popular open source software such as WordPress.

Editor's Comments About Omnis Customer Support

Omnis customers have reported that their customer support is not that good. Of all the reviews that their customers have submitted throughout the web, most of the complaints are regards to their poor customer support. Some customers have stated that their phone support representatives are not overly willing to assist with technical problems and have a poor attitude.

Let us take a look at Omnis customer support options they have made available to customers.
  • 24/7 toll free telephone sales and technical support
  • 24/7 international telephone sales and technical support
  • Direct email addresses for sales or technical support
  • Live chat
  • Limited video tutorials
  • Limited knowledgebase - most hosts have over 200 articles in their knowledgebase, we've found Omnis to have under 50.
  • Limited company blog - Only posts one or two posts a month

We currently do not see any pages on their site that offers system status information which is not good. We also do not see a community forum which we do recommend so that their customers have an outlet to share tips, help others with common issues, etc.

Overall, Omnis comes recommended by their customers as long as you don't need a lot of customer support for your web hosting. If you are an advanced user that already understands web hosting and don't need a lot of hand holding, Omnis may be a great choice.

If you'll need better customer support, we'd suggest HostGator or FatCow for your web hosting needs.
