We just received a notification that midPhase has been acquired by UK-2. The message is below:
This is an important e-mail that is part of our commitment to be as transparent as possible to our clients.
Hello, my name is Zak Boca, and along with my partner, Dan, I co-founded midPhase in 2003. When we started, we had no idea what midPhase would become… We never expected that the business would grow as quickly as it did — but it did, and as time went on more and more businesses, bloggers, e-commerce sites, and other websites trusted midPhase. This all brings me to the reason I am writing you. Several months ago we made the hard decision to sell part of our business, specifically our Linux and Windows Shared Hosting and Virtual Private Server businesses to be able to focus on our other businesses. After passing several offers that may have been disruptive to our clients, due to server-migration plans, or migrations to new platforms or new servers which would require disruptive down-time and problems, and for other reasons, we are proud to announce that we found another company in the industry with similar beliefs and goals as midPhase.
With the hard part aside, we are proud to announce that as of December 20th, midPhase has joined the UK-2 Group of companies. You can read the press release here if you are interested:

Here is the important part:
We want to make it clear that UK2 likes what we have here, and they do not plan to make changes. They want to keep the servers in the same place, and on the same control panel, and supported by the same technicians. UK2 is committed to providing top-notch service, and as a result the technicians and management that will still be at the company. We want to point out that Dan and I will be leaving midPhase entirely within the next couple of months. But, I want to stress that this is the only major change — everything else, all other staff and employees will stay in place and UK-2 has worked hard with us during the planning of this process to ensure that there are no disruptions to your service. Some facts about UK2:
UK-2 Group has been a major player in the British and European hosting industry since the late nineties, and provides domain name registration and web hosting services to many customers through a family of hosting brands. The group operates its services out of several state of the art, multi million pound data centers and are committed to providing reliable, secure and great value products and services underpinned with excellent support. UK-2 Group recently expanded into the American hosting market after acquiring clients from US host Stargate. The acquisition of midPhase further contributes to these international expansion plans and is an exciting and important step for all at UK2.We tried to cover as much as we could here, but we did create a more detailed FAQ web-site about this deal and some more specifics.
