I had kept hearing good things about lunarpages from a few different people and it turned out that all the talk was actually pretty legitimate. I was looking for a good dedicated server hosting account and I like that lunarpages would customize a plan for you so that, and the good things I’d heard from other people, was the reason I decided to sign up with them.

Account Setup Feedback

It was your average, run of the mill account set up process. I think everyone dreads them but at least this one wasn’t unbearable.

Host Reliability

When I started my account with lunarpages I added a $40 a month service that sets up the firewall, moniters the server constantly and also does a lot of other things that I didn’t feel like messing with because I consider hosting to be the most annoying part of doing business online and I try to keep my hands clean of it. Anyway, the 24/7 monitoring has served me well because I have never had any reliability issues whatsoever with lunarpages.

Pricing Info

I think that the pricing is probably not the cheapest that you’re going to find for dedicated server hosting, especially if you add a lot of the additional options like I did. Even still, I like having my hosting through lunarpages and I do feel like I’m getting my money’s worth even though I’m paying a little more. I think that a lot of the discount hosting services end up cheating you out of some of the space and features that you pay for each month in order to save themselves some money since they have lower profit margins. With lunarpages I don’t feel like I have to worry about anything like that.

Final Host Comments

Lunarpages is probably the best deal if you’re a pretty established business person who is looking for a customized hosting plan. However, don’t count it out even if that’s not you. Check out their offerings and see if any will work for you.

I have always been successful at getting my problem addressed quickly and in a direct manner when I’ve talked with customer support, whether it has been through email or the phone. They do have a forum also but I have never used it and I’m not sure how active it is as a forum.
