Original thought it was good because of price. But experienced many time out issues and also ixwebhosting now has a file limitation even though they have unlimited storage and bandwidth.

Account Setup Feedback

The set up is okay. Not too hard. Hsphere is a good control panel. However, please note that ixwebhosting control panel might have some bugs as the control panel often times out.

Host Reliability

The server OFTEN has timeout problems and the server often stalls. I think they really over crowd the servers. Instead of putting less people on the server they limit you by file count. That is a lot worse than limited storage. They refresh the server often which causes loss of session data. So if you use session variables you will have serious problems. Server is also prone to viruses which can also increase the file count. Should the file count increase, ixwebhosting will suspend your account WITHOUT notice. They believe they have the right to suspend anyone's account without giving them prior notice. This is very bad management and again unethical.

Pricing Info

You can find better pricing elsewhere. The price isn't expensive for their shared hosting but for ixwebhosting VPS pricing, they are about double the price versus others.

Final Host Comments

Before you sign up for ixwebhosting, you better consider their imposed 100,000 file limit. They say the limit is 100,000 for windows and 300,000 for linux. Unfortunately, many of the staff at ixwebhosting do not even know this limitation themselves. The terms and conditions are very general and they claim unlimited storage and bandwidth. This borders upon scamming the client to sign up and then tack on a file limitation to get you to upgrade to ixwebhosting VPS account. Is this ethical? No, it's not. Should people sue ixwebhosting for doing this? Yes, clients who have been a victim of such misleading terms and limitations should work on a class action lawsuit. You can perhaps email elawcase@gmail.com but also contact your legal consultant as well. Regarding ixwebhosting hosting itself, ixwebhosting wouldn't be recommended because of their constant downtime and server speed. It will lower your website ranking and people who visit your website will leave the site due to speed. The customer service on the other hand are courteous and you can easily contact them via online chat quite quickly. But unfortunately server and service is lacking. In addition this file limitation and server speed will affect your website's future growth.

Last note, Ixwebhosting should not promote unlimited hosting if they have file count limitations imposed. This is considered false advertising.

The customer support is fairly convenient and fast. However, they still need to contact their tech administrators if there is an issue. Thus, not only would you feel a lack of control, but even the online tech support do not have control of the server. Should any issue occur, the online tech staff will tell you they also need to wait for the admin. This usually causes delay and frustration.
