With excellent customer service and (newly) very competitive plans I can find little fault with ImHosted. I have been a contented customer since 2004 and will continue to be.

I have never had complaints about customer support at ImHosted. They have always responded quickly and helpfully, often with personal communication from the owner. After a spate of downtime a year or so ago they redoubled their efforts with customer support, responding within minutes to most issues. I rarely left with an issue unresolved and almost always that was due to the fix being impossible for anyone to implement or the issue being impossible to explain.

ImHosted had some difficulty with uptime in the past. A malicious third party frequently targeted them, reasons unknown. They did lose many customers over this but, having stayed with them through it, I found them came through remarkably well, focusing on those who had stayed and improving reliability significantly. I have not had any downtime complaints to speak of in over six months (as of August 2008).

In pricing I once was more neutral towards ImHosted. Their plans weren't quite up to the level that others in the hosting industry could offer. However, their most recent changes alter that, with the highest level shared plan now the equal or better of most any host's offerings I am aware of. Even if they do not change their offerings for some years to come I suspect these plans will prove well worth investing in for the foreseeable future.

If you want the cheapest plans they aren't for you; I've found, however, that plans promising unlimited everything for two or three dollars a month come with so many strings that no one gets even close to "unlimited". With its balance of excellent customer service and well-priced plans, especially per annum, I can recommend ImHosted to any looking for their first host or a simply to transfer to a new one.
