Here is what Jay Summerlin had to say about HostMonster and the overall experience with their web hosting service.
My first impression was that it seemed to offer a lot of bonuses with its accounts and I wondered if they overloaded their servers or somehow otherwise cheapened their costs in order to pass on such low hosting package prices to their customers. At this point, 8 months after I signed up with HostMonster, I don’t think they do anything to cheat their customers; they just provide a great hosting service.

Account Setup Feedback

Setting up new accounts (especially for hosting) is never a fun process but HostMonster’s was no worse than the other hosting companies I have used. Maybe it’s because I’ve done it before, but the setup was pretty quick and easy.

Host Reliability

I haven’t had any trouble with my hosting yet but I have seen announcements posted on their support section where they list any current problems or scheduled maintenance that will interfere with your account. Of course they always post a message that says that they schedule any maintenance so that any effect on your account will be minimal. That said, it’s been 3 months and I haven’t noticed any downtime or slow load times whatsoever.

Pricing Info

I think that the pricing HostMonster offers is a good deal for what you’re getting. They include free site builder with all hosting packages and also offer SSL Certificates for only $34.99.

Final Host Comments

I personally like HostMonster and will probably stay with it as long as their service remains constant. I really hate switching hosting plans so hopefully nothing will change.

I have made use of their good customer support team quite a bit in the months that I have had my hosting subscription. Every time I get off the phone with one of the reps, my problem is solved and usually happens that it was such an easy solution to work out that I forget that I was even frustrated at all.
