Here is what Tom Melon had to say about HostGator and the overall experience with their web hosting service.

I've switched to HostGator around a year ago, because of their good funcionality and ability to hold different websites on one hosting account (It's called ADDON DOMAINS and also it's called DOMAIN POINTERS). Using this feature, I now host tens of websites on a single shared web hosting account and which is one of the most useful features I've found so far.

The other good feature is unlimited number of everything - yes, everything: e-mail Accounts, MySQL Databases, Addon Domains, Domain Pointers, Sub-Domains and many more. This is what really impressed me with this hosting, because not everywhere you can find such range.

Well, the software support is also good. For example, PHP and MySQL/phpMyAdmin are always up-to-date, while with my previous host all the listed were rather old.

Account Setup Feedback

Another good part I've found is that once you move your hosting services to HostGator - they offer a one-time free transfer (They transfer all the files and sometimes settings from your previous host to a new one).

Host Reliability

So far didn't have any uptime problems with them - with my previous host I had many uptime problems.

Pricing Info

Well, pricing is also very nice. Starting from $7 per month you can have almost all the features I listed.
